Getting PTM Corporation Back Into Production the Same Day with Urgent Feed Control Retrofit Support

Project overview
Visionary Manufacturing Solutions supported PTM Corporation, a second-generation family company in the automotive stamping, assembly, and prototype space, with an urgent press and feed control support need. PTM had quickly become an important customer relationship for VMS because of their strong culture, demanding production environment, and trust in Visionary’s ability to respond when equipment issues arise.

Back in production
Same day
Controls failed around 10:00 a.m.; the line was running again by 2:45 p.m.
Customer Challenge
On a regular workday around 9:45 to 10:00 a.m., the controls on PTM’s Minster feeder failed while the customer was running high-production jobs on that line. PTM needed the line back up and running as quickly as possible to avoid extended downtime and production disruption.
VMS Solution
PTM called Visionary in a time-sensitive situation, and the VMS team immediately coordinated with COE service support to identify the correct feed control retrofit for the Minster feeder. Because COE had the needed retrofit in stock, PTM issued a purchase order by approximately 11:30 a.m. Visionary then picked up the control retrofit from COE, delivered it to PTM, and helped get the line back into production by approximately 2:45 p.m. the same day.
Customer Service Advantage
This project is a strong example of Visionary going the extra mile for a customer. By combining customer relationships, supplier coordination, product knowledge, and hands-on urgency, VMS helped PTM reduce downtime and regain production in a matter of hours instead of days.
Long-Term Relationship
Visionary continues to support PTM and is also in the process of helping update other press and feed lines in their facility. The relationship reflects VMS’s commitment to keeping customers running, supporting urgent service needs, and delivering products and service that build long-term confidence.
